Developing Together provides Human Resource Services to businesses between 2 and 100 employees across a wide range of industries. We provide partial or fully outsourced HR Solutions suiting your needs and providing the right support.

Our services include management of stand-alone projects such as in-house recruitment campaigns, redundancy programmes, TUPE transfers or employee relations problems and disputes. Legislation is complicated and constantly changing; we take the burden of ensuring your business remains up to date and compliant.

Recruitment and Retention

Recruitment is time consuming and expensive, but essential. Whether you are replacing or looking for a brand-new team member, we help to lead and support you. We work with line managers to define the role description and person specification ensuring a focused search. We’ll source candidates by using job boards or other social media platforms such as LinkedIn, reducing the need to pay expensive agency fees.

We manage the candidate list by doing initial qualifying telephone interviews, administering, arranging and setting up interviews and even support the face to face interview process, providing HR specialists trained in competency-based interview techniques.

Post interview we handle offer-making and on-boarding, providing the best candidate experience. We ensure new members of staff settle into their new roles effectively and understand the importance of portraying your business in the best possible light; attracting talent, providing an environment that rewards, retains and develops key skills.

Redundancies

Redundancies are a sad but inevitable part of the current economic climate. We provide HR Support, ensuring the process is handled sympathetically and in line with current employment laws. Our HR team has vast experience across a number of industries, from losing individual roles to downsizing organisations. 

We help with organisational design, defining selection criteria, running the consultation meetings or providing coaching and guidance for line managers to do it themselves. We also help with redundancy quotes and negotiating settlement agreements as required.

TUPE transfers

When a business changes ownership its employees are protected under the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) regulations (TUPE). TUPE protection applies to all employees of businesses in the UK, irrespective of size.

There are 2 types of transfer protected under TUPE regulations:

Business transfers – a business or part of a business moves from one employer to another. This can include mergers, where 2 companies close and combine to form a new one.

Service provision changes – a service provided in-house (e.g. cleaning or workplace catering) is awarded to a new contractor or transferred in-house.

This is an extremely complex part of employment law which requires solid experience and knowledge to ensure companies don’t fall foul of the regulations resulting in fines or costly employment tribunals for unfair dismissal claims. Our HR team has experience of providing support to companies who both need to transfer out or transfer in staff under TUPE. This includes staff communication, election of representatives, the consultation process and defining and delivering new contracts of employment ensuring individuals rights are protected.

HR Support Services

For small or medium sized business, it may be uneconomic to employ someone specifically for HR, there may not be the workload for a full time or part time member of staff. Adding HR to someone’s role who is not qualified may put your business at risk. We provide outsourced HR Support and administration services tailored to business needs. Whichever level of provided support there is always an HR Professional available to deal with queries and issues, meaning that an answer is provided within 24-hours. 

Our HR Support service ensures that your business has the basics in place; compliant contracts of employment, an employee handbook laying out employer and employee expectations and a set of HR Policies ensuring that everyone is treated fairly and consistently. We provide some clients with administration support for compensation and benefits schemes and others who we effectively provide an outsourced HR Manager on a retained basis.
